    How to use Custom Fields for Opportunities

    Custom fields allow you to capture specific data points for your deals that aren't included in the default opportunity fields. This guide will walk you through creating and applying custom fields to your opportunities.

    Step 1: Create a Custom Field

    • 1. Navigate to **Settings** > **Custom Fields**.
    • 2. Click the **Add Field** button.
    • 3. Choose the field type (e.g., Text, Dropdown, Checkbox) and click **Next**.
    • 4. Enter the **Field Name** and select the **Object** as **Opportunity**.
    • 5. Click **Save**.

    Step 2: Add Custom Fields to Opportunities

    • 1. Navigate to **Opportunities**.
    • 2. Click on an existing opportunity card or create a new one.
    • 3. Scroll down to the **Custom Fields** section within the opportunity details.
    • 4. You will see the custom fields you created for opportunities.
    • 5. Fill in the relevant data for these fields and click **Update** or **Save**.

    Step 3: Use Custom Fields in Workflows

    • 1. Navigate to **Automation** > **Workflows**.
    • 2. Create or edit a workflow.
    • 3. You can use opportunity custom fields in triggers (e.g., Opportunity Changed) or actions (e.g., Update Opportunity).
    • 4. Use the **Custom Values** icon to insert the custom field data into emails or SMS messages.
